Once we carefully observe patterns in nature and society, these can form the backbone of our designs, we then fill in the details as we go.
Step back and take a look at the big picture: what are your goals, what does the landscape offer you and what can you offer the landscape. Instead of saying "i'd like to place a pond here" say where does the water seem to settle?
