Our Butter Chicken Recipe
This kids and I had a craving for this one night, so we collaborated on ingredients and came up with this one. It has been one of our favorite recipes ever since!
2 pounds of chicken breast cut into strips
1/4 cup butter
1 cup cream
1-2 tomatoes diced
1 onion diced
1 large clove garlic minced
1 ounce grated ginger
1 tsp salt or to taste
1/2 tsp ground pepper
1 tbsp yellow curry powder
1 tbsp cumin
1 tsp turmeric
3-4 tbsp demerara sugar
Fresh squeezed lemon juice (from 1/2 a lemon)
Instructions:
Fry chicken in a little bit of butter on medium-high heat until golden brown. Add the onions and fry until transparent. Turn down the heat and add the remaining of the butter and the cream. The rest of the ingredients can be added and simmered until sauce is thick and heated through. Serve with basmati rice and garlic naan. Feeds about 4 or more.
