GuildA Guild is a group of plants whose needs and yields match up in such as way as to make the entire group of plants stronger than they would otherwise have been on their own. The 3 Sister's Guild is likely the most well-known consisting of corn, beans and squash. The corn acting as a trellis for the pole bean; the bean fixing nitrogen in the soil and the squash acting as a green mulch near the soil surface.
