Grow Calgary
Canada's largest urban farm began in 2013 when Paul Hughes had a dream of providing Calgary's vulnerable and low-income families with fresh produce. Ever since May 15, 2013 Grow Calgary has managed to provide fresh produce for social agencies in Calgary with food access programs.
Thanks to the thousands of volunteers and the generous spirit of the community, they have managed to donate to over 40 Compassionate Food Access Agencies in Calgary, with 95% of our recipients being women and children. Their ultimate goal is to ensure that all residents of Calgary, especially those who are vulnerable and living in poverty, have consistent access to healthy, local food.
