Each year I plant dozens of tomato varieties, many for us and some to give away. However, there are always a few leftover stragglers that never end up being potted up from their original 3-inch, tiny container. A couple of years back. I had left one of these pots on the soil surface of our mandarin tree planter. After having long forgotten about it, I looked to find the tomato plant had not only survived, but was thriving! This year I decided to repeat the experiment on purpose this time. The resulting plant had grown taller than me and had hundreds of Sungold tomatoes on it.
