Prerequisite
​Please Note:  This is the Advanced course. Students must already have a Permaculture Design Certification from a reputable PDC institute or instructor and be able to provide proof of such. If you have already taken your PDC here at Prairie Sage, we have your names on file and look forward to seeing you again!

What to Expect:
After a brief refresher on basic permaculture theory, we will then dive into:
  • Syntropic Agroforestry
  • New concepts in Building Biology & Wellness Real Estate
  • Bio-geometry
  • Biomimicry
  • Applying Ecopsychology to the human component of design
  • Diving deeper into water and its relationship with soil and plants, discovering how their combined properties can be leveraged for maximum benefit in our landscapes
  • Applying permaculture practices to Urban Design and Architecture
  • Optimizing Annual Gardening Practices
  • Permaculture during the "off" seasons, with emphasis on Indoor Food Production
  • As always, a FREE pass to The Calgary Permaculture Tour where you will gain first-hand exposure to a variety of permaculture environments, concepts & techniques.
  • Hands-on workshops (both outdoor & Indoor)
  • And much more!

PDC Level II
2026 Course Details:

This PDC class will consist of 8 days of classes (approximately 8 hours each, with lunch breaks).  Precise dates  and times are as follows: 

PDC Level II Dates
​(Full course will be divided among 4 weekends):
July 4, 5
July 18,19
August 1, 2
[4 week break]
August 29, 30

Times: Each day of class will start at 9:00 am and run until approximately 4 pm.

Permaculture Tour day (usually on a Saturday or Sunday) is included and you will always have a chance to attend another time if you are unable to make this year's tour.

Course Location: Calgary, Alberta.

Final Project:
To complete their certification at Level II, students must choose a project from one of the following options:

1.) Obtain a real client and create a small design for some portion of their property (clients can be friends, family or strangers). If students are unable to secure a client in time, I will attempt to find one on their behalf.

2.) Write a research paper on a specific aspect of permaculture that you are curious about. You can either conduct your own research, providing you purchase your own supplies, or you can find  a number of relevant scientific sources, as long as you cite the research.
