- Design meaningful connections with nature into your yard and home through the concept of sectors and zones
- Learn water-harvesting techniques
- Learn about some of the most useful food-bearing plants for Southern Alberta's climate
- Take home wisdom on growing tropical plants indoors
- Understand the basics of permaculture including the 12 principles, the ethics and philosophies

- Learn how plants relate to each other through the concepts of companion planting and plant niches
- Discover some of the most nutrient-rich food plants to grow in our climate for great health
- Participate in a practice session on designing your own landscape
